Your role
As a Confirmed Data Engineer, you will drive the design, development, and optimization of scalable data pipelines and architectures that underpin data-driven decision-making at Hublo. Working in our dynamic scale-up environment in France, you will independently translate business needs into robust technical solutions while upholding Hublo’s values of collaboration, excellence, and innovation.
How you'll make an impact:
Data Pipeline Design & Implementation
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to aggregate, process, and transform data from multiple sources.
Independently refine data models and schema designs to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
Collaborate with Data Analysts, Engineers, and other stakeholders to convert business requirements into resilient technical solutions.
Data Quality, Performance & Reliability
Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting mechanisms to guarantee high pipeline uptime and rapid issue resolution.
Conduct proactive performance tuning and optimization to reduce data processing latency and improve overall system efficiency.
Ensure code quality through peer reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD).
Continuous Improvement & Mentorship
Champion best practices in data engineering, including writing clear technical documentation and developing guidelines for standardized processes.
Evaluate and integrate emerging data tools and technologies to continuously enhance our data infrastructure.
Provide guidance and occasional mentorship to junior team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
Engage in periodic architecture and process reviews to identify opportunities for system enhancements.
Measure of Success
Successfully deliver projects within the defined timelines while maintaining high quality.
Frequently owns squad initiatives and ensures they get completed, coordinates efforts, and alerts if any blockers emerge.
Recording measurable improvements in data processing speed and efficiency as evidenced by reduced latency and optimized resource utilization.
Garnering positive feedback from cross-functional teams on data accessibility, reliability, and overall technical support.
Keeping technical documentation and process guidelines updated quarterly, ensuring continuous operational excellence.

Hard Skills
Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python, with proven experience in building and optimizing data pipelines.
Deep understanding of ETL/ELT processes and practical expertise with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow.
Solid familiarity with data warehousing concepts and platforms (e.g., Snowflake or similar cloud-based data solutions).
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and tools that support infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform) and version control systems.
Competence in performance analysis and optimization of data systems, using modern monitoring and diagnostic tools.
